Aurora Project

January 1st, 2010

auroraproject-titleThe Aurora Project was my original solo project. Rather than a ‘regular’ band it was a collection of individual guest musicians.

Guitarist Stuart Arbuthnot, bassist Harry Young and singer Euan Lowson (formerly of Pallas) and previously played in Glasgow based ‘The Rising’ (previously known as Eye Level. The band had built up a loyal following around Scotland but eventually split in 1993.

Brian prepared some further demos which caught the attention of Dave Shoesmith, owner of the Centaur Label (and CD Services the mail order house) who had just re-released Pallas’ remixed and remastered version of ‘The Sentinel’ and the new combi album ‘Knightmoves to Wedge’ on the Centaur label.

The demos eventually became the debut album ‘The Balance of Risk’ which was released on the Centaur Label (Cen CD 0011) in 1996

    Hi Brian.
I host a synth/EM show on http://www.arfm.co.uk and I’d be interested to play a track from “Balance..” on an upcoming show with your permission. I remember buying the Cd from Dave at CDS many years ago. Probably when it was first released. Excellent and very diverse album.

    Hi Bruce
I’d be delighted to get some play on your show. Perhaps we can do some more mutual promotion in future. Cheers
    Brian
